BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety

The BRCGS Global Standard is a widely recognised benchmark for food safety, quality, and operational practices. As part of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), it is accepted by retailers and food businesses around the world.

To begin the certification process, you will need a copy of the relevant BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, available from the BRCGS website. There, you will also find resources to help you conduct a self-assessment.
Achieving full certification to the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety can be challenging for some smaller food production companies and so the BRCGS START! is an effective stepping stone.

The standards can be complex, but we’ve made it easy with simplified self-evaluation checklists that break down what you need to have implemented to meet the requirements of the standard. You can use the checklist to determine to what extent you already meet the requirements to become accredited, and which gaps need to be addressed.
Once you’re satisfied that your organisation meets the requirements, Telarc will audit your systems and either issue the certification or identify non-conformances that you need to address before certification is granted.
